Hardware/Video grabber
I needed to convert some old VHS tapes but I no longer had a VCR so I finally decided to do it. I got myself a great used player and video grabber and it was easier than expected!
I used Arch Linux and the converter I used is the DIGITNOW!Grabber.
I acquired the images with OBS.
DIGITNOW device was immediately recognized correctly.
Inside the package there were poor quality male/female RCA connectors and a SCART/RCA converter with the pins not aligned perfectly, with a slight pressure it tended to come out of its seat.
Luckily I had an excellent SCART/RCA male converter which was really useful to me.
I followed some tutorials and after an unsatisfactory first attempt I found this very useful guide with which I configured OBS for my NTSC VHS using a 720×540 resolution scaled to 720×540 and configured all the options described.
