Plastic original vs Metal square?
Do the original plastic lens hoods of your Fujifilm X-T5, Fujifilm X-T30, X-T2, X-T3, X-T4, X-T50 or other X-T cameras seem too plastic and large?
LH-XF18 + LH-XF23 II Metal Square
I have a Fujifilm X-T5 with two prime lenses: FUJINON XF18mmF1.4 R LM WR and FUJINON XF33mmF1.4 R LM WR.
I don’t like the 33mm lens hood, I find it ugly and large.
My new original Fujifilm Metal Square aluminum lens hoods finally arrived from Germany.
Fujifilm Plastic XF Lens Hoods vs Metal Square XF Lens Hoods video comparison
I made a video showing unboxing and differences between the classic plastic lens hood supplied with my two prime lenses and the Fuji original Metal Squares ones.
Original Fujifilm lens hoods cost is double the JCC ones, it was also difficult to find them but in my opinion they fit very well and I prefer the original products.
They mount with a firm click and are very solid fit.
18 mm petal lens hood was nice but the Metal Square shape won me over and I got that one too.
Camera length has decreased and I like them more aesthetically.
This is an image gallery of the two lens metal square hoods mounted on the Fujinon XF18mmf1.4 R LM WR and Fujinon XF33mmf1.4 R LM WR and some with the original plastic ones supplied with them to help you better appreciate the difference.
LH-XF23 II Metal Square works also with XF33mmf1.4 R LM WR lens.
As can be seen from the images, appearance of the lenses is very pleasant and if it gains them even in length as the camera is shorter and easily transportable with the mounted hoods. Metal used has a premium finish and fit very well. I buyed from Fujifilm Germany but you can find it also on Amazon (only original LH-XF23-2 at the moment).
