Updates/Car&Lenses
Car
These days there are a few complications, first of all the car. My old 2009 Euro 5 Golf 2000 TDI will soon no longer be able to circulate in some areas and I have decided to change it. After-work quotes and obsessive YouTube car video reviews are taking up almost all my free time.
Lenses
Meanwhile, with the money I received from my old RX100 plus Dell 4K monitor I bought myself a new Fujifilm XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR lens. I needed something that brought me closer to the subjects. Sometimes it’s frustrating not to be able to get as close to the detail as you would like. I did a first test in full sun conditions (I didn’t have time) and I’m really satisfied. I got myself a great kit (thanks to Universo Foto for Kase gift).
I would resell the 18 mm very well right now but I find it exceptional in certain situations and more original in terms of results. I might get a new bag with compartments to hold them both and that isn’t too bulky…
Arch Linux
As far as Arch Linux, yesterday I faced one of the few serious bugs relating to version 545.29.02 of the nvidia drivers, very calmly as usual I analyzed the last boot log with:
$ sudo journalctl -b-1
And I “fixed” it by downgrading the drivers:
$ sudo downgrade nvidia-dkms nvidia nvidia-utils
Then I waited for the forum guys who soon proposed pacman hook to avoid similar cases in the future:

My PC fan spins abnormally when I play a YouTube video in the background.
Temperatures remain normal and processes normal.
The problem is annoying. I could use Sony headphones to “eliminate” any noise…
For my next PC build I will have to get a better case with better airflow.
