GNOME/feautures
This is one of those really genius GNOME features that make your life easier.
I don’t rely on external tools or WordPress plugins to manage my images.
I prefer to scale and convert them manually, so I often find myself having to rename dozens of images all at once. Since I have been using the webp format for my sites I no longer have the help of David’s Batch Processor for Gimp and GNOME has a truly brilliant tool.
Simply select multiple images from Nautilus and select Rename.
The interface that will open allows you to rename all the images by intelligently managing the sequences of numbers to be associated with each file.
Selecting Rename allows you to leave the original name or choose a customized one, the add button manages the incremental numerical sequences to assign to each file (1,2 01,0,2 001,002 etc..) and in one click I have the ordered list of my images. You can also easily search and replace text and manage duplicate files.
