Origin OS is the successor of Funtouch OS. Its design style is flatter and more visual. It also provides a “parallel space” design for users who like the original Funtouch OS. Users can switch between the traditional interface and the new interface. At the same time, Origin OS supports customizing the size, length, etc. of application icons, which is officially called the Klotski Grid system.
Origin OS 4 has been re-released, and it contains a ton of new features.
The open beta had already appeared for ten days but only yesterday I realized that I would have to restart the smartphone to finally receive the almost 7GB update to the new version of the Chinese OS.
What’s new in Origin OS 4
Origin OS 4 (4.0) is based on the Android 14 operating system and adds the “Blue Heart Little V” global intelligent assistance function. According to the official website, Lanxin Xiao V is developed based on AI technology and can bring users more useful system intelligence experiences.
The system is now faster and more responsive, the settings menu’s icons are much nicer, and there are new AI possibilities with the ability to create artificial intelligence-based backgrounds.
Vivo has made the new OS lightweight, which is claimed to reduce background processes by 20%. OriginOS 4 has a Memory Fusion 4.0, which maximises memory usage for better app startup and background operation. Vivo has introduced more than 2,000 redesigned icons and new fonts. There is a new Super Power-Saving Mode, which is claimed to extend standby time for up to 3 hours or enable a 15-minute call even when the battery is at 1% and much more…
Smooth Envision, which increases system performance by reducing persistent processes and improving RAM use, has been enhanced by Origin. Additionally, it increases the amount of RAM by up to 600MB for devices with 8GB or more. Users may ensure that their essential apps open seamlessly and continue where they left off by whitelisting specific apps with the App Retainer. With an improved tiny window functionality that supports up to 12 active windows and side-swipe suspension, the company is improving multitasking. New functionality and enhanced animation smoothness are other noteworthy features.
