next/Kdenlive
have been using Kdenlive in GNOME for many years and being a KDE native application I have always encountered interface problems on my Dell UHD monitor. Despite the numerous KDE dependencies required, icons on GNOME were always very small with consequent difficulties in use. There was no benefits in changing the global system settings.
I recently updated Kdenlive to the latest Kdenlive 22 Daily build experimental build. I use the handy AppImage version (Arch Linux bin doesn’t render me some effects and doesn’t take the dark theme). It is sufficient to download the file, assign the execution permissions and launch it.
To my surprise I discovered that Kdenlive 22 fits perfectly to the resolution of my 3840×2160 (UHD 4K) monitor, icons have finally the right size and the timelines take up all the available space.
Paradoxically, I got used to working badly and I had developed some automatisms on the mini interface and I initially found myself confused … positively
Rendering settings have also changed, in the new version the export quality is expressed as a percentage, however all the advanced codec parameters are reported separately as in the old one. Then there are the new render options Render at Preview Resulution, Rescale and Separate file for each audio track.
